GHALANAI: Clashes continue in Mohmand


GHALANAI, July 18: Clashes continued between two rival groups of Taliban for the third day on Friday as conflicting reports of casualties reached here from the Haleemzai area of Mohmand tribal region.

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan spokesman Dr Assad told Dawn on Friday evening that at least 100 activists of the rival Shah Khalid group had surrendered to the TTP. He put the death toll from the three-day fighting at 10, saying that TTP had not suffered any casualty.

He said that the death toll could be high.Sources said that the fighting broke out at around 9am on Friday when the two groups attacked each other’s positions. The exchange of fire continued till last reports came in.— Correspondent
