Official falls to death from 4th floor

LONDON, July 18: Chief petty officer Munir Ahmed, 50, a staff member of the Pakistan High Commission died here on Friday afternoon after falling from the fourth floor window of the HC building.

Ahmed who leaves behind his wife and five children had come to London only six months ago to take up his posting in the naval wing of the High Commission. His family is in Pakistan.

The cause of the ‘accident’ is being investigated.

From the distance that the body covered before falling on the ground, witnesses thought, it could not have been an accidental fall.

According to sources in the HC, emergency services were called immediately and first aid was given on the spot to a critically injured Ahmad but he succumbed to his injuries.
