Iran invited to take part in mega housing projects

ISLAMABAD, July 18: The government has proposed Iran to participate in the upcoming mega housing projects in the country.

The proposal was made during a meeting between Federal Minister for Housing and Works Rehmatullah Kakar and Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mashallah Shakeri here on Friday. They discussed bilateral cooperation in different sectors, including housing and construction sectors.

The minister informed the ambassador about the construction of one million houses for government employees under the prime minister’s ‘Houses for All’ programme, adding that six other projects would soon be launched in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Multan and Larkana.

The minister as well as the ambassador said cooperation between both countries would open new avenues.

Housing and Works Secretary Samiul Haq Khilji and senior ministry officials, the managing directors of Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) as well as the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) were also present on the occasion.
