Malik meets Altaf

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 18: Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior Affairs Rehman Malik met Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain in London and discussed with him the political and economic situation in the country, problems in tribal areas and overall law and order situation in the country.

According to a statement issued by the MQM on Friday, Mr Hussain apprised Mr Malik of what he termed a conspiracy of Talibanisation of Sindh, particularly Karachi. The MQM chief expressed concern over the situation in the tribal areas which, he said, was destabilising the country and endangering border security.

Mr Malik said the government would never yield to terrorists’ pressure and strongly deal with elements challenging the writ of the state.
