MAGIC TIPS: Do it Yourself


• To sharpen blunt scissors, cut through pieces of thin foil several times for a few minutes

• Line the bottom of the vegetable compartment of your refrigerator with paper. The excess moisture will thus be absorbed, keeping the vegetables and fruits fresh for a longer period

• To remove sun tan, add a small quantity of rose water to lime juice and apply to the face at night and wash with water in the morning

• To get rid of ants, add some water to snuff powder and smear wherever needed

• To wash off garlic smell from your hands, scrub your hands in baking soda and water

• To cure onion breath, chew on some parsley and then spit and gargle

• Quickly rinse hot hard-boiled eggs in ice-cold water, the shells will be easier to remove

• If silver jewellery gets black apply toothpaste and rub well

• Get more juice from a citrus fruit by warming it slightly in the oven

• To avoid milk from spilling, apply glycerine to the rim of vessel

• To remove odour from flask or thermos, rinse with yoghurt and a pinch of salt

• Keep your candles in the freezer and they will last longer and drip less

• To prevent sticking of ice trays in the freezer, place a sheet of foil or wax paper under them. — N. J.
